S.T.E.P. 2008-2009

S.T.E.P. 2008-2009 (Physics)

S.T.E.P. (Science Thematic Enrichment Program) will be held on Monday evening, February 23.

You will present your project on S.T.E.P. night. The following guidelines for your project must be followed:
1. must be consistent with the class theme
2. must include library research
3. must include an experiment with experimentally collected data (cannot be just a library project)
4. must include a written paper (5 pages in length) with a bibliography
must include a poster board which will provide an overview of your project and results and be displayed during S.T.E.P. night

Main Theme: Projectiles (NO flammable fuels allowed)

To stay on task, the following time-line should be followed.

If you have not done so already, you must purchase and begin reading this weekend the book "The Physics of Superheroes" by James Kakalios. Start reading the book's Introduction as well as chapter 1 and answering the associated questions in the study guide that you received in class on either Thursday, September 11 (period 6) or Friday, September 12 (periods 3 &5)

If you are in period 6:
Have finished the Introduction by Wednesday, September 17 and chapter 1 by Tuesday, September 23.

If you are in period 3 or 5:
Have finished the Introduction by Thursday, September 18 and chapter 1 by Monday, September 22.
